Girl Code

Girl Code is a student-led group founded in 2020 that recognizes and celebrates the limitless potential of girls in the field of technology. In collaboration with the NGO JYC, we have successfully taught AI and a beginner Python course to over 120 girls to foster their interest and proficiency in computer science. Our dedication to promoting inclusivity extends beyond workshops and training sessions, as we actively engage with secondary schools such as Delia Memorial School and Precious Blood Secondary School.

We aim to create a safe and supportive platform for girls to explore and excel in computer science. As Girl Code continues to make a significant impact, we are excited to announce our upcoming collaborations with esteemed organizations like IBEL and EmpowerU, expanding our reach and providing even more opportunities for girls to thrive in the world of technology.

About Code Create

Code+Create is a branch of Foo\Bar that aims to provide underserved teens with an introductory understanding of programming and computer science. To do so, we host weekly in-person lessons at CIS for students at Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School. Volunteers are paired up with beneficiaries to offer individualized programming lessons in Scratch and Python. The goal is for beneficiaries to learn and discover new programming languages and to develop their own creative projects.
